Linn Efsing
M.Sc. Materials Design and Engineering, Royal Institute of Technology
I was born in 1989 in Stockholm. As a child, I moved with my family down to the South West coast of Sweden to a small community called Strandbaden. Growing up, I spent a lot of time sailing and playing tennis and football. I also had a short carrier as coach in these three sports during my teenage years. Nowadays my big passion in life is downhill skiing.
After high school I moved back to Stockholm and started my university education at Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). I studied Materials Design and Engineering which I think is a very interesting subject with a lot of possibilities after the diploma. During my five years at KTH I did an ERASMUS exchange semester in Grenoble, France. This was a very interesting semester and I learned a lot of French. After France I returned to Sweden and finished my M.Sc. with a master thesis at the company Sandvik Coromant.
In parallel to my university studies, I was very active in the student union Tekniska Högskolans Studentkår (THS) at KTH. This gave me a lot of valuable experiences regarding networking, team leadership and project planning. A benefit from these activities is that I also got to know a lot of interesting and inspiring persons which I still keep in touch with.
GKN Aerospace Engine System in Trollhättan is a perfect place for a girl with a big interest in technology and materials science. It is truly a company in the absolute frontier of technology.
The components that GKN Aerospace Engine System in Trollhättan produces are very interesting. It is truly a company in the absolute frontier of technology. Combined with the international possibilities within this company, I’m very happy to be a part of 2015/16s graduate program as I now stand in the beginning of a new challenge.
