David Johansson – M.Sc. Industrial Engineering and Management
My name is David and I am 25 years old. Born and raised in the hometown of GKN Aerospace, Trollhattan Sweden. After six years away from the city I’m pleased to finally be back, only for a short period of time however. I am one of the participants in GKNs International Graduate program (IGP). It´s an exiting program stretching over five years and the GKN plc business. This means I will spend my first 6 months in Trollhattan before exploring other divisions within GKN. It´s a truly inspiring and exiting opportunity I have in front of me.
I have always been interested in technology and industry. As a kid I made ambitious Lego figures and had an Märklin-railway in my basement. It was quite large and my mother wasn’t very pleased with it. But it caught my interest for technology and I later studied at the technical program during my high school years. Quite early in high school I was inspired to go on to further education. I then found the program called Industrial Engineering and Management. The combination of classical engineering topics such as math and organization development was a suitable option for me.
With the aim to reach a masters degree I packed my bags and moved to Luleå University of Technology. After I had settled down and finished my first three years I was again ready to try something new. So I packed my bags and moved to Berlin in Germany for an exchange period. Berlin is an amazing city and it inspired me to have an international approach in my career. If I were to sum up my university year it would be in positive words. I’ve learned a lot in school but also about my self and it of course opened doors for me after graduation.
When I’m not at work I spend my time with friends, family and training. After work it is not unlikely that you find me in an ice-hockey rink. Before I started university I played at senior level here in the region.
My trainee colleagues and I hope that you will follow the blog. If you have any questions or topics you would like to know more about. Please let us know!
